Top 10 Frugal Tips That Will Help You Save More:

If you want to buy most of the things you like and need on a daily basis and also become rich, then you must try some of the best and most recommended frugal tips out there. It’s not unusual to wish to have the best of both worlds, but you have to be smart about it.

That’s probably one of the reasons why we believe there’s no such thing as too many frugal tips out there, even if some of them might not work for you. But the truth is, you can live well on less, and if you learn how to do it, you’ll thank yourself for the rest of your life.

So we might have talked about frugal tips in the past, I know, but there are so many ingenious things out there you can try that it would be a shame not to hear about them at least once, right?

Today, we’re going to tackle the matter once more, because yes, we’re committed to being more frugal! Here are some of the best tips you can try this week:

Don’t buy souvenirs.

Everybody likes to travel. I know that’s not necessarily the most frugal thing you can do, but we still think that spending money on life experiences is better than being cheap all the time.

We truly value good experiences and not that much of the cheap stuff you can get at the gift shop. So if you’re not planning a trip anywhere because you think you can’t afford to buy souvenirs, reconsider your priorities.

So what if your kids won’t have a stuffed panda from the San Diego Zoo or mouse ears from Disneyland? This really doesn’t mean that you didn’t have a great time together.

Don’t eat out that often.

Most of the meals I eat are made at home. I usually like packing lunches for the entire family during the day, and at night, we share another great meal together.

Truth be told, in this economy, eating out isn’t as cost-effective for our family, so I prefer cooking something delicious at home. Does it take too much time? I won’t lie to you; sometimes it does, but I swear that over time, it will be so much better for your finances.

Shop sales and combine coupons.

I rarely buy anything if it’s not on sale. Truth be told, it’s even better if I can find something on sale and use a coupon, too, and that’s when I decide it’s time to stock up.

Otherwise, if I want to buy something that’s not on sale, I rarely get it. After all, if I really want it, I can definitely wait a week or two until it moves to the sales aisle, right?

You price match.

The majority of stores are still extremely competitive, especially when it comes to price matching. This also requires the smallest amount of research, but with the ease of smartphones, you can generally do your research in the aisle of the store. Price matching definitely saves time and money, too.

You combine errands.

Gas prices are finally dropping, and that’s wonderful news, but it’s still very important to combine your errands. I usually try to map my route for the day, especially if I go grocery shopping, and find the stores that I need in pretty much the same area.

It helps me save some gas and also saves me a lot of time. After all, your time is also worth something, right?

You shop around.

Another great piece of advice to add to your list of frugal tips is that you shouldn’t be loyal to only one store. Sure, you can have your favorites, but if someone asks you where you usually get the majority of the things you need, you shouldn’t narrow it down to only one store.

In a regular week, you might want to go to three different grocery stores, hunting down the best discounts and promotions. The same goes for big-ticket items as well. You can always shop around before making a purchase.

You do the math.

When I’m out to buy something, I always try to do the math. I try to decide if it’s cheaper to buy the bigger toothpaste or if the smaller one would do. I also go for the cereal that’s cheaper (but not the cheapest!) at the grocery store or Costco.

When it comes to great frugal tips, you always have to consider what’s best for you and your budget. And yes, there is such a thing as the best of both worlds.

You just have to know how to pick the right things. Actually, I would love to know how you like to shop for the stuff you need, so make sure you let me know in the comment section below.

You cut out the cable.

Streaming services will just make this so much easier. You can easily pick and choose which services you want to subscribe to, so you can easily get the television and movies you might want to watch.

Also, don’t forget to take advantage of all the services you already have in your package, such as Prime Video, which usually comes with an Amazon Prime membership.

You have a full pantry and freezer.

Another great tip you should add to your list of frugal tips is buying in bulk the next time you find a good deal because you can freeze it and use it later.

For example, if you find a sale on meat, stock up, freeze, and cook it throughout the month. If you’re committed to cooking most of your meals, then it will also prove to be more efficient because you will have plenty of food on hand and you won’t have to worry that there’s nothing to cook for dinner.

You are a selective spender.

Probably the number one rule when it comes to the best and most efficient frugal tips is to avoid impulse purchases for as long as you can. You obviously need to buy essentials, and that can already include a wide range of things, but when it comes to impulse purchases (a better coffee machine, a better car, a better TV), you’d have to think a million times before pressing that button.

Truth be told, the best way to save money is not to spend it.

You do the work.

If you or your partner are handy, that will just save you a ton of money. For example, you can ask your husband to change the oil in your car. Or, instead of paying for someone to deep clean your entire home, you can do it yourself.

If you can do the work yourself, then you should definitely choose that route. Naturally, you might want to treat yourself once in a while with a good coffee from Starbucks. But honestly? After saving up $200 on expenses, I think you can afford to get yourself a $5 coffee, right?

You plan ahead.

The last thing you should add to your list of frugal tips is the fact that failure to properly plan something only means that you planned to fail. I know it might sound harsh, but it’s true.

It could imply anything, from planning for retirement to planning ahead to avoid spending money. If you need a proper planning agenda, I highly recommend you this one.
