Mental health is among the most important things that can never be bought with money. Living a stressful life and not making your health a priority can put you at risk for anxiety issues and even depression. It is not something to be taken lightly, as more and more people suffer from this illness.

Money will not bring you peace, if fact, trying to earn more and more will make you even more stressed and burned out. Not only will this severely affect your mental health but it can also cause other problems such as insomnia. In this case, the only things that money can pay for are your medical bills.

  1. Healthy relationships

No matter the type of relationship, with your partner, family, friends, co-workers, it is not something that should be built on money. If you’re having all sorts of arguments with your significant other, buying them expensive gifts later will not work forever. An apology present might work the first time, but no indefinitely. No amount of money will be able to fix a toxic and unhealthy relationship.

In fact, relationships with our loved ones cannot be valued in terms of money. They do not have a price tag. A healthy and happy relationships should be based on kindness and quality time.

We would all love to buy more time for ourselves, for our loved ones. Unfortunately, it is impossible. Time cannot be bought. It can only be appreciated moment by moment, day by day, so that we don’t end up with any regrets. This is why it is essential to use the time we have wisely.

Another important thing that cannot be bought with money is happiness. No money in the world will guarantee that you will live happily ever after. You might have all the expensive gadgets, top cars, fancy clothes and still be unhappy about yourself and your life. That’s because happiness is something that comes from within.

If you want to be happy, don’t rely on money to achieve happiness. Instead, appreciate the good things in your life, no matter how small they might seem, and try to have a positive approach on life. It will change everything, trust me!

Rich people seem to have a lot of friends. But how many of those so-called friends will stand by you when you really need it? Not that many.

Someone’s social circle is no real indication that they are surrounded by real friends. Not even if they have money. That’s because you cannot put a price tag on true friendship. Regardless of your financial situation, it is important to have honest and trustworthy friends by your side. If you are lucky enough to have such people in your life, tell them as often as possible that you appreciate them.

  1. Respect and admiration

Having money is not a quality for which people admire and respect you. If not, they stick by your side foe the benefits that your financial position might bring them. However, true respect cannot be purchased with money. People might be nice to you and talk badly behind your back.

The same thing with admiration. What you do and what you achieve in life is what makes people admire and appreciate you. Throwing money in the game, will not help you become more admired.

According to a famous song of The Beatles, “Money can’t buy me love.” Taking someone to an expensive restaurant or buying them expensive gifts, will not make them love you. They might not even like you. That’s because feelings cannot be controlled or bought with money.

Love should not be based on one’s bank account. True love means spending time with someone and really enjoying your time together. When you love someone, you do it for who they are as a human being, not for being your personal wallet. You love them for how they make you feel not for what they can buy for you. Money will never be able to make someone fall in love and feel love towards another person.

  1. Good manners

Good manners are taught, not bought. You’ve probably seen a lot of rich people full of entitlement and acting like they own the world. In many cases, money makes people behave rudely towards others. This is not what having money is about.

In fact, money or not, we all should practice good manners. It is not something that can happen overnight, but with practice and patience, anyone can become well-mannered.

Being empathic is not something you can achieve solely by having money. Understanding other people, their feelings and their struggles is something that no credit card can buy. Connecting with people and really paying attention to their stories is an ability that cannot be bought with money. The same with receiving empathy from others. You might be rich and all but this will not guarantee that people will be understanding towards you.

Positivity is another thing that cannot be bought with money. You can buy everything you set your eyes on and heart desires and still feel unhappy all the time. That’s because negativity attracts unhappiness. Positivity attracts happiness and a positive state of mind can help you see the world with different eyes.

Focus on the positive things that happen in your life and count your blessings. Having a positive attitude comes from within, not from having money.

  1. Inner beauty

You might be able to pay for botox and other facial treatments, but if you’re ugly on the inside, no amount of filler will make you beautiful outside and inside. In other words, you may have all the money in the world but you will still not be able to get yourself a good personality. Being kind, gentle and an overall good person is not something that can be bought with credit cards. It is not something you can fake forever, under the cover of money.

Self-esteem is not something to be bought at every street corner. It is something you have to achieve on your own, with hard work and patience. It does not happen overnight and surely not because you have a few extra dollars in you bank account.

Studies have indeed revealed that purchasing new items such as clothes or making changes in our appearances, such as a new hairdo, can boost serotonin levels, this is only temporary. In the long run, money cannot maintain serotonin levels at a high level all the time. This means it is only up to you to do it, by thinking positively and building your confidence step by step.
