Buying These 6 Home Items in Bulk Saved Me Money (You Should Try Too)

October 4, 2023 · Shopping
home items in bulk,

I have to tell you something: buying these home items in bulk saved me a lot of money and trips to the store!

And yes, you should try it too! Okay, let’s learn a bit more about one another. My name is Ariadne, I live in Minnesota, I’m the mother of two gorgeous teenage kids, and I hate going to the store often. I don’t have time for that because this woman’s got to work.

And that’s why I love getting these home items in bulk. You probably stock up on household items to save some cash, and maybe you store them in your pantry for later. There are, of course, items that come in larger quantities, like paper towels, toilet paper, and cotton pads for removing makeup. But there are others that you might not know are better when bought in bulk.

When I finally noticed how much time it takes to hit the store every few days and come home with lots of things that I didn’t even plan on getting, I told myself that it was enough and I had to get some home items in bulk.

If you want to know more about the products I always have at home and why I like to do so, keep reading, because I have some secrets to share with you.

1. Shower and bath products

Your shower and bath products should undoubtedly be on your list of home items in bulk because the majority of households go through conditioner, shampoo, and body wash pretty quickly, and nobody likes it when they’re caught by surprise.

Not only will stocking up on these products save you money, but it will also prevent you from having to waste time going to the store to pick up your favorite products.

One trick I use for making the best deal when getting these home items in bulk is looking for sales. I have some brands and kinds that I love, and each time there’s a sale or I have a discount code available, I make sure to get more of them.

Another thing you could do is look for coupons that will save you money thanks to their discounts. Ta-da, you just use them when you need them, and you can enjoy your little shopping spree!

2. Cleaning items

I don’t know about you, but I feel more motivated to make my home sparkle when I have all of my trusted dish soaps, cleaners, and laundry detergent ready to be used.

The good part is that you can purchase these home items in bulk without a problem because they have an incredibly long shelf life. You’ll probably finish all of them before they have the chance to go bad, but don’t forget to check the expiration date just in case.

When there’s a sale, make sure to stock up on your favorite items, because there’s nothing worse than being on a cleaning schedule and running out of your much-needed products.

If you already have cleaning supplies at home but don’t have the right gadgets to make your home sparkle, check this offer out, because Amazon has the right cleaning tool for you! This electric cordless spin scrubber comes with several accessories to make your home look and feel fresh!

3. Pet food

I think having pet food as one of the home items I always get in bulk is pretty obvious. I have a Golden Retriever dog whose name is Ferdinand, and I wouldn’t want him to starve because I forgot to get him food.

So if you have pets, you can easily get these home items in bulk because they have a long shelf life, as long as you keep them in a dry and cool place. As we’ve previously mentioned, don’t forget to check out the expiration date, because that’s important for the life of your cute pet.

I did some experiments, and I came to the conclusion that both bagged and canned pet food are wise to stock up for your furry friends. It saves me money; I don’t have to go to the store that often, and I make sure that my dear dog is always fed. Isn’t that great?

4. Storage and trash bags

Is there something more inconvenient than throwing something away, only to notice halfway that there’s no trash bag there? Well, why risk something like this when you can get these home items in bulk instead?

Trash bags are great to always have at home because you can use them for both your kitchen trash and for collecting any debris outside. Buying these home items in bulk means that you can have them ready for 6 to 8 months, which is pretty good, especially if you get them on sale.

When I go to the store, I also make sure to put some Ziploc bags in there, because they’re fantastic for freezing leftovers and for taking some nuts with me when I run my errands, so I won’t be tempted to get some unhealthy things. The moral of this story is that you should get these two home items in bulk because it’s easy to forget about them.

5. Canned foods

Have you ever come home extremely hungry, impatiently waiting to eat something that will stop your stomach from rambling, only to discover that both your fridge and your pantry are empty?

You can avoid that by buying particular home items in bulk, such as canned foods, that will come in handy when you want to eat something quick and affordable.

The next time you go to the grocery store, make sure you put some tuna cans, pasta sauce, beans, chickpeas, and corn in there because you can easily whip something up when in need.

Don’t forget that although they have a long shelf life, it’s always better to check out the expiration date so you know for sure how long they’ll stay fresh.

6. Meat

Let’s talk about some statistics here, because you might not know how much money you actually spend on meat. According to a study, the average American household spends no less than $1000 on meat eaten at home in one year. While it might not seem that much, there are ways you could lower the costs and still enjoy all those delicious things you want.

If you go to the grocery store and you see that your favorite meats are on sale, why not get these home items in bulk? Whether it’s salmon, tilapia, steak, pork, or poultry, you can get more and then store it in the freezer for when you need it.

Just make sure that they have a longer expiration date, and don’t forget to use wax paper, double-wrap foil, or parchment paper to safely store them in your freezer, and you’ll be good to go.

Whether you want to make some tasty and juicy burgers, lasagna, pizza, cabbage rolls, or a barbecue, you’ll have plenty of meat to take your cooking to the next level.

What’s great about getting these home items in bulk is that meats are high in protein and healthy fats, which means that you’ll be fuller for longer, you can build lean muscle, and your body will be nourished and happy.
