8. You can find holiday cards for only 50 cents
Next on our list of dollar store secrets is something that may come in handy before the holiday season. So, what you should know is that the dollar store is the best place to purchase holiday cards. They are suitable for all occasions, and you can find them for less than $1.
Think ahead of time about what birthdays and celebrations you’ll mark in the next six months, and stock up on these cards for these events.
Purchasing ahead ensures you’ll have them when you need them. There isn’t a better deal for them at a warehouse store or a grocery store. Keep in mind that not all dollar stores are the same.
9. You can buy online
No. 9 on our list of dollar store secrets is something that will ease your shopping experience. You probably didn’t know, but there are some dollar stores that sell their products online.
The only condition you have to meet is that you need to purchase more than one item, which is fine because most of us buy 10 or more products. Purchasing online is particularly helpful when you need several items for a party, for instance. Dollar stores can be a heaven for decorations, gifts, and other supplies.

I was just at my Dollar Tree and most items are now $1.25. But I disagree about your comment about food items. Canned goods are a great deal and there are a number of name brands. I just bought Campbells, Healthy Choice and Swanson canned soups. There were also DelMonte and Dole fruit and veggies in cans. Regular size cans. And the brand of Gnocchi is Pampa and from Italy. I also see same at my grocery store. I suppose all stores are different.
I completely agree with you. I buy dry beans, and there’s nothing wrong with them. Also a few frozen items are great. We need to do our own research.
I totally agree with you.. there definitely items or products that are cheaper than the grocery stores, etc… Still best place to shop for discounts
I also agree. You can find name brand canned soup, veggies, gravy and more. Cleaning products are also a good buy.
wish this was for Canada!

once when traveling, we could not find a grocery store and it was the only place we could find a loaf of bread. Once while staying in a resort area, i.e. prices in the stores and restaurants were very high so we went to the dollar store and bought 1/2 pints of ice cream for $1.00 each. It was great for dessert or a snack while we watched TV. Now we only buy facial tissues at the Dollar store for $1.25 and that’s still cheaper than Sams and the grocery store.
whoever throws shade on Dollar Tree has not had much experience with these stores. Or else hasn’t done much shopping anywhere over last several years. it is absolutely one of my favorite places to save a few bucks, including many canned goods, eye glasses, pet supplies, mouthwash, kitchen tools, etc, etc.
Yes, I agree about canned good another replier made! I buy Healthy Choice Chicken Rice soup on line by the case because I am GF and this soup doesn’t bother me!!!!! So I buy 5-6 cases and pick it up at my local Dollar Tree. Great to have on hand in case of emergency as well!
It seems that Dollar Tree is no longer offering greeting cards 2 for a dollar anymore. All I see now are $1 cards….so sad! Anyone have info on that? Now that first class postage is 73 cents, it’s getting more costly to send cards.
I love dollar tree.
So do I!
I LIKE THIS!
We RV, so space and weight are a consideration. For home, I buy the *large* size for most items. But on the go, the dollar store is a great choice.
Dollar tree offers many things at a lower price. When you find something that works for you stock up on it. Sometimes they will only carry an item for a short time. Cleaning supplies, soaps, body wash are all things you can stock up on. It’s a good alternative when trying to stretch your dollar.
I buy my plastic bags for food at the dollar store . They carry glad / ziplock bags. Also the cleaning supplies are great and cheaper than the big box stores
Birthday cards! Greeting cards! Easter cards! $1 and 2 for dollar! I still like to send to grandkids and out of town relatives! ♥️♥️♥️♥️🥰🥰
As a retired teacher….I used the Dollar Tree for much of my teaching career. Loved the products and if you are creative can put together fantastic theme teaching!
There are lots of dollar store dinner and also craft ideas on youtube!
I buy all my cleaning goods, garbage bags, paper towels, and freshness. All of these things are much cheaper in dollar tree than in the Grocery Store .
Dollar Tree is still my favorite place to shop..I love sweets, They have the greatest selections of Cookies and Candies for $ 1.25 each. Much better than even Walmart..Alcohol there is much cheaper than Walmart and Dollar General..Cleaning Supplies and household items are always in stock. I love Dollar Tree and Dollar,General.
When I go to a dollar store, I’m primarily going to Dollar Tree for specific items. You can get some major brands of canned food (ex. Goya black beans) for $1.25. I also purchase detergent (dish and clothes) and fabric softener, paper goods (ex. TP) and aluminum foil and plastic wrap (packaging can be annoying but good quality). Some items are now going up to $1.75. I also shop at Walmart, Woodman’s and other stores for other products. But dollar stores help stretch a fixed budget on fixed income.
Can not beat the prices for party goods , kids odds and ends.
I love the Cotati, Ca. Dollar tree. Cleaning supplies, occasion cards, holiday decor items and more. Happy helpful people working here. Thank you Dollar Tree.
Hum not really any saving secrets, just someone voicing their opinion on what they think is good vs bad … probably based off of their own preference. Dollar stores in general can be a God sent especially for those who have no government assistance. Hope everyone does their own research and do what is best for them.
